TEHRAN, July 26 (Xinhua) -- National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC) has successfully finished the one-month overhaul of the 320,000-ton oil supertanker, Tehran Times daily reported Friday.
Iranian technicians managed to repair the giant oil tanker DORE inside the country for the first time in the history of Iran's shipping industry, Nasrollah Sardashti, managing director of NITC, was quoted as saying.
"Engines, generators, and electrical appliances all have been repaired and stained," Sardashti said.
"The supertanker will not require major repairs for the next five years," he added.
DORE belongs to the national Iranian oil tanker fleet with a length of 333 meters.
