TOKYO, July 29 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened slightly lower on Monday as subpar corporate earnings released recently weighed on the market mood.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average shed 21.35 points, or 0.10 percent, from Friday to 21,636.80.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 1.83 points, or 0.12 percent, at 1,569.69.
Electric appliance, rubber product, and iron and steel-linked issues comprised those that declined the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell.
