OSLO, July 31 (Xinhua) -- The price of Norwegian fresh or chilled salmon fell down to 56.16 Norwegian kroner (6.44 U.S. dollars) per kilogram, the lowest in 2019, online newspaper E24 reported Wednesday.
According to Statistics Norway (SSB), last week the price decreased by 6.7 percent from the week before.
Also last week, 262 tonnes frozen salmon were sold at 63.59 Norwegian kroner per kilogram, which was 15.9 percent lower than the week before.
According to "Salmon Farming Industry Handbook 2019", published by fishing company Mowi ASA, the price that farmers get paid is usually around 1.5 kroner per kilogram lower than the average price disclosed by SSB price, E24 reported.
