HANOI, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- A total of 2,404 fires and explosions happened in Vietnam in the first seven months of this year, killing 65 people and injuring 113 others.
The fires and explosions also caused property losses of some 781 billion Vietnamese dong (about 33.9 million U.S. dollars), the country's Fire Prevention and Fight Department said on Thursday.
Vietnam recorded 2,460 fires and explosions in the first seven months of last year, which left 70 people dead and 186 others injured and caused losses of 1,414 billion Vietnamese dong (about 61.5 million U.S. dollars).
The country reported 4,075 fires and explosions which claimed 112 human lives, injured 263 people, and left property losses of some 1,700 billion Vietnamese dong (73.9 million U.S. dollars) in 2018, said the department.
