BEIJING, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- The seventh China Charity Fair will commence in Shenzhen, southern China's Guangdong Province in September, according to China's Ministry of Civil Affairs Thursday.

The fair, scheduled to take place from Sept. 20 to 22, will continue to focus on poverty alleviation, a third time following the 2016 and 2018 charity fair, said the ministry at a press conference held in Beijing.

This year's charity fair will emphasize the need of people lived in severely impoverished areas and explore the role of charity in the country's poverty alleviation efforts.

Examples of successful and innovative poverty alleviation projects will be displayed in the fair's exhibition section, which will also showcase some products from poverty-stricken areas.

The charity fair was first held in Shenzhen in 2012. Since then, the charity fairs have so far attracted more than 8,000 organizations in total, with charity deals worth 45.4 billion yuan (about 6.6 billion U.S. dollars) signed.
