BUDAPEST, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- Officials of the Hungarian Formula One race track revealed the trophies of the upcoming 34th Hungarian Grand Prix here on Thursday.

"The trophies of the 34th Hungarian Grand Prix were completed individually under three months, they represent 19th-century vases, feature a map of the Hungaroring race track, a pattern of the Far-east, and a platinum ornament," the Hungarian government informed in a statement on its website.

The Hungaroring race track is located in Mogyorod, a suburb of the Hungarian capital.

"Our company has done everything in the past nine years to make the Mogyorod race track famous not only for its Formula One Grand Prix but also for its social role," Zsolt Gyulay, President and CEO of Hungaroring Sport Inc., told at the press conference that introduced the trophies, quoted by the statement.

"Last year, 528 cars and 842 bikers participated in our 'open days,' and they were able to push the boundaries of themselves and their vehicles safely on our premises, while our driving school has been operating now for 21 years," Gyulay added.

In the framework of the press event, Hungarian Minister for Innovation and Technology Laszlo Palkovics declared that Hungary has joined the UN's road safety program.

"With the adhesion, Hungary has undertaken the aim to implement actions in the field of road safety that will make it possible to achieve the goal of no fatal traffic accidents in Europe by 2050," Palkovics underlined.

"Our participation in the program can be divided into three elements, on the one hand, the use of police tools and on the other hand technological development and thirdly education, training and the transfer of knowledge," Palkovics underlined.

He added that, as a fourth element, Hungary would also like to provide education to countries at a less developed level in transport, such as in Africa.

The 34th Grand Prix will start on Sunday, August 4. The weather is expected to be largely warm and dry, but rain is not out of the question.
