ISTANBUL, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- At least five people were killed and 15 others injured on Friday when a fire erupted on a passenger bus in northwestern Turkey.
According to the NTV broadcaster, the incident happened near a gendarmerie post in the Ivrindi district of Balikesir province.
The driver of the bus carrying 34 passengers did not stop after he saw the flames, the NTV quoted eyewitnesses as saying.
Balikesir prosecutors have launched an investigation into the incident, the broadcaster said, noting the cause of the fire was not immediately clear.
