YANGON, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- Three high school students were awarded as winners at the final round of 12th Chinese Bridge, Chinese language and culture proficiency competition in Myanmar's Yangon region on Saturday.
The 12th Chinese language and culture proficiency for high school students was held at China Cultural Center in Yangon.
Eight finalists from high schools participated in the competition in three categories -- speeches, dubbing and talent under the theme of "Learning Chinese, Creating Brighter Future."
Kyaw Lin from Mayangone township won the first prize while Lu Min Oo from Hlaing township was awarded second and Kyawt Kyawt Khine from Mayangone township ranked third in Saturday's competition.
The first prize winner of Yangon region will represent Myanmar in China's final competition at where second prize winner of the region will be observer.
Organized by the Confucius Institute Headquarters in China, the "Chinese Bridge" Chinese proficiency competitions have been held since 2002.
The competition consists of three events -- for foreign college students, for foreign high school students and for foreign students in China, respectively.
