KHARTOUM, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- Chairman of Sudan's Transitional Military Council (TMC) Abdel Fattah al-Burhan on Saturday reiterated the council's readiness to complete transition of power in the country, according to Al Arabiya news channel.
"We are ready to complete transition of power side by side with the Freedom and Change Alliance," Al-Burhan was quoted as saying.
He said the agreed constitutional declaration with the alliance institutes for establishment of the long-awaited civilian government to become a reality.
The African Union (AU) Envoy to Sudan Mohamed Hacen Lebatt on Saturday announced that the Freedom and Change Alliance and the TMC have reached a full agreement on the constitutional declaration.
The alliance said in a statement Saturday that the constitutional declaration would be signed with initial letters after completing its final formulation on Sunday.
The declaration determines powers of the transitional period structures including the sovereignty council, the council of ministers and the transitional legislative council.
It stipulates that the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces be under the army's commander general who belongs to the sovereignty council, while the Police Forces and the General Intelligence Authority be under supervision of the sovereignty council and the council of minters.
The declaration also includes the establishment of a legislative council with 67 percent of seats for the Freedom and Change Alliance and 33 percent for the other opposition parties.
