WARSAW, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- Serbia and Poland have celebrated victories on the second day of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) women's Olympic qualification tournament in Wroclaw.
Teams from 24 nations are competing at various venues around the world in the qualifiers as they battle for a place at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
Serbia stormed to a convincing three set win over Puerto Rico, taking the match in straight sets with a 25-14, 25-20, 25-16 win.
The victory comes a day after Serbia's crushing triumph against Thailand saw them win their opening game.
In the second encounter of the evening, over 2,000 spectators packed the Hala Orbita arena to witness a five-set thriller.
Poland scored a narrow win over Thailand, finishing the match 23-25, 25-22, 28-26, 23-25, 11-15.
The success comes after Poland beat Puerto Rico in their opening encounter of the qualifiers on Friday.
Now, Poland and Serbia will meet on Sunday, with the winning team taking a much coveted place at Olympic Games in Tokyo.
