RABAT, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- Four people were killed and 42 others injured when a coach overturned near Morocco's city of Taounate on Wednesday, learnt Xinhua from medical sources.
Four people who were seriously injured in the accident have been transported to the university hospital of Fes, it added.
The bus was travelling between Al-hocema on the Mediterranean coast heading to the town of Fes in central Morocco, when the accident occurred near the city of Taounate.
The driver of the coach ran away and the police is searching for him, said the local press.
Deadly road accidents are common in Morocco, often caused by high speed, bad condition of roads and reckless driving.
According to official statistics released recently, a total of 1,357 people were killed in road accidents in Morocco in the first four months of 2019, up 10 percent from a year ago. Enditem
