GAZA, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- Both Islamic Hamas movement and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad warned Israel on Saturday of a popular Palestinian outrage against the Israeli practices in the Palestinian territories.
The two groups' officials said in two separate remarks that the daily Israeli practices against the Palestinians would lead to a large popular outrage, adding that Israel would be fully responsible for "its aggression and crimes."
Fawzi Barhoum, Hamas spokesman in Gaza, told reporters in response to the killing of four Hamas militants earlier on Saturday that "what the occupation (Israel) has done is a new crime added to the series of the ongoing crimes against the Palestinians."
"These young men are the victims of the occupation's injustice, the crimes and the suffocating siege imposed on the Gaza Strip," said Barhoum, adding "what happened reflects the status of outrage against the occupation's practices."
He clarified that "the Israeli occupation imposes a tight siege on the Gaza Strip, kills children, confiscates lands, expands settlement and violates the Muslims holy places in Jerusalem and demolishes the city's residents' homes."
An Israeli army spokesman announced earlier on Saturday that Israeli army forces shot and killed four Gaza militants, who were armed and approached the border area between eastern Gaza Strip and Israel.
"The Israeli military has thwarted a very significant attempt to attack the country," the spokesman told reporters, adding "four militants attempted to cross the border and infiltrate Israel through the Gaza Strip."
He went on saying that "the four were killed by Israeli ground forces shortly after they were identified by surveillance cameras positioned at the tense border."
Meanwhile, the Islamic Jihad movement warned Israel that "the Israeli terrorism won't stop the growing outrage among the Palestinians."
It said in a press statement that "breaking into al-Aqsa Mosque, imposing a siege on the Gaza Strip, demolishing homes and attacking prisoners in their prisons will lead to a popular explosion as long as suppression and settlements are going on."
