BEIJING, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese history research institute under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences will initiate a program to better support its top history experts in conducting research, according to an official with the institute.
The "scholar's studio" program will help the institute's head researchers set up studios under their own names, assemble their own research teams and select research topics of their own will, said Li Guoqiang, deputy head of the institute.
Li said the program encourages the experts to set up high-level and interdisciplinary research teams.
The program, which is result-oriented, will simplify the procedures of intermediate examination and assessment to create a better environment for historical research, said Li.
The Chinese history research institute was founded in January as China's top institution of historical research.
