FREETOWN, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has on Tuesday appointed Ghanaian Selas Tetteh Teivi as the head coach of the national senior team Leone Stars.
According to a press release from the association, the appointment was made after a thorough scrutiny of all applicants for the job.
In all, five foreign coaches applied for the job, but Tetteh emerged as the favorite.
The release states that the new coach is expected to resume work within the next 48 hours.
Tetteh has once served as head coach for Leone Stars on a contract basis, but resigned after he was called to coach a local football team in Ghana.
He is expected to manage Leone Stars throughout the African Nations Cup qualifiers.
Leone Stars would play with Nigeria, Lesotho, and Benin in the Nations Cup qualifiers.
