The airstrikes, according to the official, were launched in the wee hours of Thursday when a group of Taliban fighters gathered in Hazrat Sultan area, a suburban of Kunduz city, killing four insurgents including a foreign national on the spot.

This is the second strike on the Taliban militants in the same area over the past two days. In the previous crackdown on Wednesday morning, five militants were killed, according to local officials.
