KIEV, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe Special Monitoring Mission (OSCE SMM) to Ukraine recorded fewer ceasefire violations in Eastern Ukraine over the two weeks since July 29, the organization's official Facebook page said Friday.

"Between July 29 and August 11, the SMM recorded about 2,700 ceasefire violations compared with over 6,000 in the previous two-week period," the message read.

The mission recorded no civilian casualties over the reporting period. Also, OSCE representatives recorded no ceasefire violations inside the Stanytsia Luhanska disengagement area since June 17.

A successful troop pullback was completed at the end of June in Stanytsia Luhanska, marking a new milestone in the conflict resolution in Eastern Ukraine.

Overall, fewer ceasefire violations were recorded along the contact line since truce recommitment came into effect on July 21.

The ongoing conflict in the East of Ukraine started in April 2014.
