BERLIN, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- German Basketball Bundesliga team Berlin ALBA launched its China tour on Saturday to play friendly against Tsinghua University on August 26.
The ALBA women's team will play against the renowned Tsinghua University next Monday on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the twinning of Beijing and Berlin. One day later, they will train with local children as part of the celebration.
The ALBA Vice President Henning Harnisch will accompany the team and his journey will go even further. Harnisch will open the first ALBA basketball hall in China on August 30 in Lianyungang, south China's Jiangsu Province. The ALBA basketball-style hall will host regular ALBA camps and training sessions in the future.
The ALBA's third stop is Shenzhen where the German men's national basketball team will play their World Cup matches in Group G. Together with the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHK), the club will host a talk on September 2 with the former German national player Harnisch and the president of the German Basketball Association, Ingo Weiss.
