OLOMOUC, Czech Republic, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- Third seed Miu Hirano of Japan completed a thrilling comeback win over China's Liu Weishan in the women's singles quarterfinals at the ITTF World Tour Czech Open here on Saturday.

Trailing behind 0-3, the Japanese won four consecutive games to seal the 4-3 victory over unseeded Liu 8-11, 7-11, 10-12, 11-8, 11-8, 11-8 and 11-4.

Liu, who started from qualifications with a world ranking of 255, caught the spotlight after she claimed straight-game win over Feng Tianwei of Singapore to make it to the last eight.

"I did not expect to lead 3-0 against Hirano. She won a key point from my serve in the fourth game and I think that's the turning point," Liu told Xinhua. "I lost points too quick in the decider and couldn't rally back. I lost the match because of inexperience."

In another quarterfinal on Saturday, Kasumi Ishikawa of Japan celebrated her first victory over Chinese He Zhuojia after losing their previous three meetings, winning 11-9, 11-6, 11-6, 7-11 and 11-9 for her semifinal spot.

"I feel more confident than last week at Bulgaria Open where I lost to her 4-0. This time I played much better. I've become more confident and decisive. I think I'm making great progress tactically and mentally," Ishikawa said.
