MUSCAT, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) of Oman and Huawei Oman on Wednesday signed an agreement to transfer information and communication technologies through the Huawei Authorized Information and Network Academy program.
According to a statement of the university, Huawei will provide a training service including a simulation tool used in training for the Huawei HCIA certification, and support the construction of the equipment of the Information and Communication Technology Academy (ICTA).
The College of Engineering of the university will provide classrooms and other educational facilities to accommodate Huawei's ICTA equipment.
Mohammed Al Badi, head of the electrical and computer engineering department, said "this program enhances the theoretical and practical linkage of the students and contributes to the capacity building through the training of students and the training of professional trainers in this rapidly evolving sector."
