Located in the mountainous region, Longbang Village is a settlement area for ethnic minorities with dense population but few cultivated lands. Due to the adverse living environment, local villagers have been stricken by poverty for a long time. Thanks to the poverty alleviation efforts by local authorities in recent years, a total of 1,615 villagers from 327 households were relocated into their new home in 2017 and 2018 respectively. Many public service facilities, including kindergarten, primary school, clinic and recreation center, are accessible to residents in the resettlement site. Local authorities have also set up poverty alleviation workshop and organized skill training for villagers to help them shake off poverty. (Xinhua)
