BOGOTA, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- Right-back Daniel Munoz has been ruled out of Colombia's upcoming friendlies against Brazil and Venezuela in the United States because of a torn hamstring.
The 23-year-old, who was called up to Colombia's squad for the first time last week, sustained the injury on Thursday while playing for Atletico Nacional in their 1-0 defeat to Tolima in the Copa Colombia.
"The Colombian Football Federation wishes [Daniel] a speedy recovery and hopes that he can return to action soon to that he can be available for the national team," the entity said in a statement.
Colombia will face Brazil in Miami on Thursday and Venezuela in Tampa four days later.
Colombia head coach Carlos Queiroz was expected to announce a replacement for Munoz later on Sunday.
