OSLO, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- A total of 300 employees of Norway Post will lose their positions due to centralization of the company's operations and closing of several sorting centers, Norwegian media reported Tuesday.
Besides the 300 redundancy, between 1,000 and 1,500 employees will also become unemployed in the near future, as Norway Post will reduce its delivery frequency from 2020 and deliver mail every second day, news agency NTB reported.
"There are many employees who are affected, but fortunately they are prepared," Elisabeth Gjolme, communications director of Norway Post told online newspaper Nettavisen.
All the employees have been given solutions with voluntary schemes, she added.
Postkom, the trade union of the Post's employees, marked the process as "good", the report said.
