TIRANA, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Albania's producer price index (PPI) dipped 0.3 percent year-on-year to 103.2 in the second quarter (Q2) of 2019, the National Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) reported on Wednesday.
In Q2, the PPI in manufacturing fell by 1.1 percent year-on-year. Manufacturing prices decreased mainly in the following categories: metallurgy, 7.4 percent; food products, 1.3 percent; and non-metallic mineral products, 0.1 percent.
In the same period, the PPI for the mining and quarrying sector dropped by 0.4 percent year-on-year. The biggest decrease -- 1.1 percent -- was registered in the "extraction of crude petroleum and natural gas, auxiliary services" category.
Compared with the first quarter of this year, the PPI increased by 0.1 percent in Q2, 2019.
The largest increase was registered in the mining and quarrying sector (5.2 percent), followed by "electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning" (0.1 percent), INSTAT said. Enditem
