ULAN BATOR, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- A China Reading Room opened here in the Ulaanbaatar State University on Thursday to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mongolia.
"The opening of the China Reading Room, part of a series of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary, aims to help strengthen cultural exchanges between the two countries and provide Mongolians with a deeper understanding of China," Han Yunxiang, head of the press office of the people's government of China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, told Xinhua.
The Chinese side donated more than 1,000 books of various kinds such as literature, history, linguistics, medicine and sports to the reading room, said Han.
"We have been actively cooperating with the Chinese side. Currently, our university has a Confucius Institute and a Taiji training center," Rector of the Ulaanbaatar State University Sanjaa Baigalisaikhan told Xinhua.
"I am confident that the reading room will help our students better understand China," he added.
