GHAZNI, Afghanistan, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- A total of nine militants were killed as a clash erupted in Qarabagh district of the eastern Ghazni province on Friday, said an army statement released here Saturday.
The clash flared up after the militants attacked security checkpoints in Bahardargai area of Qarabagh district on Friday morning and security forces retaliated by killing nine insurgents and injuring 11 others, according to the statement.
A vehicle of militants, two motorbikes and huge quantity of arms and ammunitions have also been destroyed, the statement said, adding the security forces would continue to chase the insurgents.
Taliban militants haven't commented yet.
