COPENHAGEN, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- The Danish Food Ministry on Saturday announced the allocation of 13.5 million U.S. dollars to launch ten new research projects to find solutions for the reduction of greenhouse gas from agriculture.
The projects aim to tackle agricultural topics such as soil systems and land use, the climate-friendly farm, the production of future food and contributions to bioenergy solutions and biomaterials.
"We are facing a global climate crisis, where Denmark not only has ambitions but also the ability to lead the way as a good example. The research will find solutions to how agriculture becomes far more climate friendly," Food Minister Mogens Jensen said in a statement.
Climate Minister Dan Joergensen welcomes the initiative. "Good Danish food must be more climate-friendly. We must show that green solutions are not only possible but also better -- and make them part of Denmark's green export success," Joergensen said.
The ten research projects will take place from 2019 to 2021.
