PRAGUE, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- Government representatives, experts of academic fields, NGOs and the private sector from the participating members of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) gathered here on Wednesday to discuss economic and environment issues in the OSCE area.
The three-day "27th OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum" will focus on issues such as economic progress and security through energy cooperation and new technologies.
The forum's main objective is to stimulate political dialogue and generate recommendations for OSCE participating members in dealing with economic and environmental challenges.
The participants discussed the merits of strengthening energy cooperation to increase energy security and sustainability.
They acknowledged that responding to the multiple requirement of the energy transition to renewable energy sources, while considering economic efficiency and environmental sustainability, is an ongoing challenge for all OSCE participating members.
