HOHHOT, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- The 14th annual FB-Life Alxa Hero Festival is slated for October 1 to 5 in the Tengger Desert of north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, local sports officials said on Friday.
A total of 50 activities will take place during the five-day off-road festival, including Team-3 challenge, Team-3 relay, rock challenge, all-terrain vehicle grand prix and music carnivals, officials said.
The festival will overlap with China's week-long national day holiday from October 1 to 7, with off-road enthusiasts and tourists expected to attend.
More than one million participants and tourists visited last year's festival, according to statistics from the local sports bureau.
The Tengger Desert lies on the southern edge of the Gobi Desert, and is chiefly located in Inner Mongolia's Alxa League.
