NEW DELHI, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the United States on Sept. 21-27 during which he will address the annual United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), and also meet U.S. President Donald Trump, Foreign Secretary Vijay Keshav Gokhale said on Thursday.
Modi is scheduled to arrive in Houston on Saturday, where he would address the Indian-American community the next day.
The Indian PM would be joined by Trump during the event. Around 50,000 people are likely to attend the event.
As per his itinerary, Modi will address the UNGA session on Sept. 27.
Marking the 150th birth anniversary of India's Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Modi will also host a special event - Leadership Matters: Relevance of Gandhi in the Contemporary World - on Sept. 24.
This event is scheduled to be held at the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Chamber in the UN headquarters in New York, and will be attended by several top leaders.
