HURGHADA, Egypt, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian business tycoon and founder of Egypt's El Gouna Film Festival (GFF), Naguib Sawiris, said he is a "big fan of Chinese movies."
"I love Chinese movies, especially action films," Sawiris told Xinhua on the red carpet during the opening of the third edition of GFF which kicked off late on Thursday night in Egypt's Red Sea resort town of El Gouna.
Sawiris said he watched most of the famous Chinese action movies, adding that his most favorite Chinese film is "An Flying Arrow" which was directed by Gao Feng.
"I try to watch Chinese movies whenever I get the chance because they give me an idea about the Chinese culture and traditions," he revealed.
He expressed admiration for Chinese filmmakers and producers for their techniques, noting that he is "a big fan of Chinese cinema."
The GFF, one of the leading film festivals in the Middle East, aims to showcase a wide variety of films for a passionate and knowledgeable audience, while fostering better communication between cultures through the art of filmmaking.
The festival also includes industry-oriented events to support and empower Arab filmmakers and help them find artistic and financial support.
