OUAGADOUGOU, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- Burkina Faso President Roch Marc Christian Kabore on Friday condemned an ambush that killed five soldiers and left others injured in northwestern Mouhoun Boucle region.
He also expressed sympathy to the bereaved families and wished a quick recovery to the injured.
Kabore was reacting from the western city of Bobo-Dioulasso, where he was to chair on Friday the closing ceremony of the National Youth Forum that gathered over 1,000 youths from all regions of the country.
On Thursday evening, at least five Burkina soldiers were reported killed and some others injured in an ambush in Toeni, Sourou province.
Since 2015, Burkina Faso has suffered a series of terrorist attacks that have caused over 500 deaths and the internal displacement of 280,000 people.
