BEIJING, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- Domestic drama "Little Q" led the Chinese mainland box office on the first day of screening on Friday, the China Movie Data Information Network said Saturday.
Starring famous actor Simon Yam Tat-wah, the film tells the story of a guide dog named "Little Q" and a middle-aged baker who lost his eyesight.
The film took in 16.6 million yuan (about 2.34 million U.S. dollars) on Friday.
In second place is domestic historical film "Mao Zedong 1949," which grossed over 13.5 million yuan.
Rounding out the top three is domestic fantasy film "Jade Dynasty," which pocketed nearly 9.86 million yuan on its 9th day of screening.
