TEHRAN, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Iran beat Canada 18-25, 25-23, 27-25, 25-19 to register its first win at the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Men's World Cup on Friday.
In the match played at the White Ring Arena in Nagano, Japan, Aliasghar Mojarad scored 15 points for Iran, while Sharone Vernon-Evans had a match-high 24 points for Canada.
Iran lost its opening two matches to Russia and Egypt, 3-1 each, and will meet Australia on Saturday.
Japan hosts the World Cup for the 12th consecutive time since 1977. Enditem
