BRATISLAVA, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- Hockey Club Kosice won in shootout drama over Miskolc 3-2 to stay on top in the rankings of the Slovak premier hockey league.

Marcel Hascak turned out to be the key player for the home team, tying the game in the first period with his typical wrister and scoring the game-winner in the shootout to stretch Kosice's winning streak to three.

Last season's champions Banska Bystrica also win their third in a row, edging out Zvolen 4-3 in a close derby match between two neighboring cities from the central region of Slovakia and moving to the second spot in the rankings. Bruno Mraz scored twice for Zvolen, but the US-born Mitch Wahl provided the game-winner for the visitors in the third period.

Detva is on the best roll of the league, winning their fourth straight match as they had little trouble defeating the last-placed Liptovsky Mikulas 6-2 on Friday. Maros Surovy ended the night with two goals for Detva, his first two of the season.

Michalovce managed to win their fifth home match in a serie, serving Nove Zamky a clear 4-1 defeat. The newcomers of the league sit on a respectable fourth position in the rankings.

Budapest snapped their two-game losing streak, triumphing 2-1 over Trencin.
