PARIS, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- Mauro Icardi scored his first Ligue 1 goal as Paris Saint-Germain crushed Angers 4-0 at home, while Nantes made the most of Angers' defeat to move up to the second position after edging Nice 1-0 in Saturday's ninth round action.
Pablo Sarabia opened PSG's scoring in the 13th minute as he cut inside from the right flank before finishing a left-footed low shot for his maiden league goal since joining the capital club.
Then Sarabia turned provider by setting up a cutback, and Icardi made no mistake on sweeping it home in the 37th minute.
Summer signing Idrissa Gueye also discovered his maiden league goal for PSG 14 minutes after the restart. Sarabia attempted to send the ball back into the danger zone after his shot was cleared by Romain Thomas, and Gueye precisely had the final touch on it.
Brazilian star Neymar rounded goalkeeper Ludovic Butelle and scored his fourth league goal of the campaign to cap PSG's rout at the stroke of stoppage time.
PSG keep the top place in hand, but saw their advantage over nearest rivals remain two points, as Nantes surpassed Angers after a narrow home win over Nice.
Moses Simon scored a late winner for Nantes by meeting Kader Bamba's pass at the back post in the 86th minute. Nice slumped to eighth following their fourth defeat of the season.
Also on Saturday, Dijon climbed out of the bottom after overcoming Strasbourg 1-0, Brest beat Metz 2-0 in a clash of promoted sides, Montpellier got past Monaco 3-1, and Toulouse fell to Bordeaux 3-1 at home.
