RABAT, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- Sammy Kigen Korir of Kenya won the Casablanca International Marathon on Sunday, finishing the 42-kilometer race in two hours, 8 minutes and 32 seconds.
Korir beat two others Kenyans Jonathan Yego Kiptoo (2:10:28) and Kotut Jackson Kipkoech (2:11:37) to win the title.
Fellow Kenyan Lilian Jebitok took the women's title in 2:31:31.
Jebitok joined Keltoum Bouaasrya of Morocco (2:34:30) and Hey Mamitu Balcha of Ethiopia (2:39:56) on the podium.
Over 6,000 participants from 35 countries took part in the 12th edition of the Casablanca International Marathon considered as one of important marathons in Africa.
