BEIJING, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- Domestic film "My People, My Country" passed the 2-billion-yuan mark at the Chinese mainland box office on Sunday after seven days of screening.
Featuring seven short stories and seven directors led by Chen Kaige, the film is a major production to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC).
It draws on important historical moments since the founding of the PRC in 1949, aiming to awaken the shared memories of Chinese people around the world.
Box office revenue of the film is expected to reach 3 billion yuan (about 419.72 million U.S. dollars) on the mainland, according to Maoyan, a Chinese film database.
