Solomon Islands becomes tourist destination for Chinese citizens

BEIJING, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping Wednesday congratulated the Solomon Islands on becoming a tourist destination for Chinese citizens.

During a meeting with Solomon Islands' Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, Xi said China and the Solomon Islands enjoy great potential for tourism cooperation.

Xi said China welcomes the Solomon Islands to take an active part in the activities of the 2019 Year of Tourism for China and Pacific island countries.
