BEIJING, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- The Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee has decided to posthumously honor Huang Wenxiu, a former village official in southern China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, as a national-level outstanding Party member.
After graduating from Beijing Normal University in 2016, Huang returned to her hometown Baise, Guangxi, and served as an official with the publicity department of the Baise municipal committee of the CPC.
Since March 2018, Huang had been leading the poverty alleviation efforts in Baini Village, Leye County, as the village's Party chief. She died in a rain-triggered flash flood at the age of 30 in June 2019, while returning from the city of Baise to Leye County.
Huang is the epitome of Party members and officials working at the grassroots level who devote themselves to poverty relief, according to a statement released by the CPC Central Committee.
The CPC Central Committee called on all Party members and officials to learn from Huang and required Party organizations at all levels to tell Huang's stories in activities under the education campaign themed "staying true to our founding mission."
