BEIJING, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- China will push forward the fostering of talent with advanced manufacturing skills, particularly the application of industrial robots, to boost the development of the advanced manufacturing industry, an official said Friday.
Fu Jianqi, an official with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, made the remarks at a press conference for the third National Industrial Robot Technology Application Skills Competition, whose final is to be held in Jinan, capital of east China's Shandong Province, between October 18 and 20.
This year's competition features the application of automatic guided vehicles and increases the difficulty of assembling tasks, Fu said.
To date, contestants from 30 provincial-level regions across China and 16 centrally state-owned enterprises have participated in this year's competition.
