TEHRAN, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- Iran's national volleyball team beat Argentina 25-27, 25-23, 25-19, 17-25, 15-10 at Hiroshima Green Arena in the second phase of round-robin play of the FIVB World Cup on Friday.
Porya Yali led Iran with 18 points in the hard-fought match, and Ezequiel Palacios registered a match-high 20 points for Argentina.
"It was a tough game with a lot of emotion on both sides," Iran head coach Igor Kolakovic said at the post-match press conference.
"We had a good service after the third set. Our service was crucial in this match ... and it decided the result of the match," he said.
Kolakovic's team will play the hosts Japan on Sunday. Enditem
