SUVA, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison is currently in Fiji for a two-day visit, the second after his official visit to the island nation early this year.
According to Fiji Broadcasting Corporation (FBC), the Australian prime minister on Saturday visited the Fiji military forces' Blackrock Camp in Nadi, the third largest city of Fiji as part of his two-day visit.
Morrison voiced his satisfaction with the upcoming Peacekeeping and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Camp, saying that the progress made at the Blackrock training camp builds on the bilateral meeting he and Fiji's Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama had in Suva, where they went through follow up actions on the items that they were able to discuss in Canberra during Bainimarama's recent visit to Australia.
Morrison also visited the 183 Fiji military officers who are on a six-week pre-deployment training for Iraq.
On Friday, the two discussed a range of issues, such as the sustainability of fish stock throughout the Pacific region and other multilateral agreements that will be deliberated on further.
In January this year, Morrison paid a two-day official visit to Fiji, aiming to strengthen Australia's bilateral relationship with the island nation.
