THE HAGUE, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- Over 130 climate activists were arrested in Amsterdam on Saturday for blocking the Blauwbrug, a main bridge in the center of the Dutch capital city.
The demonstrators belong to the Extinction Rebellion action group.
The protesters started to block the Blauwbrug Saturday morning. They were arrested after they ignored police order asking for their leave.
Last Monday, the Amsterdam police stopped a day-long blocking of a main road to the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam by the Extinction Rebellion climate activists and arrested a total of 90 protesters.
