JERUSALEM, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- Israeli settlers vandalized cars and spray-painted anti-Palestinian graffiti in a West Bank village on Sunday, an Israeli watchdog said.
In the village of Marda, southwest of Nablus city, eight cars were damaged and their wheels punctured in addition to hate slogans painted on walls of residential homes, according to field researchers with Yesh Din, an Israeli-based human rights group.
An investigation has been launched into the attack, Israeli police told Xinhua.
Photos released by the Marda village council show part of the graffiti reading in Hebrew: "We shall take control of our destiny and expel our enemies."
Video footage from a CCTV shows young men puncturing tyres with sharp objects.
It was the second time in the last two months that "an ideologically motivated offense" took place in Marda, Yesh Din said in a statement.
The incident was the latest in a string of settler attacks on Palestinians and their property in the West Bank.
On Saturday, a group of some 15 masked settlers carrying clubs and stones attacked two Palestinian boys, aged 10 and 12, who were working in a family-owned field near the Israeli outpost settlement of Neria.
The past years have witnessed thousands of such attacks, mainly in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, and most of such cases have remained unsolved with charges rarely made.
