JAKARTA, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian police have foiled plots of IS-linked group to launch suicide bombing attacks during the inauguration of President Joko Widodo on Sunday, a police officer said on Tuesday.
"Bombers have been prepared for terrorist acts on Oct. 20 in Solo and Yogyakarta," police spokesman Brigadier General Dedi Prasetyo said.
President Jokowi, the popular name of the president, and elected Vice President Ma'ruf Amin have won the presidential polls on April 17 and are scheduled to be sworn in on Sunday.
The plots have been well prepared, including the bombers of the strikes which will be carried out in Solo of Central Java province and Yogyakarta province, as the headquarters of mobile-brigade police unit and religious buildings have been put on targets of the strikes.
The plots were designed by of the outlawed Jemaah Anshorut Daulah (JAD) which is loyal to the IS group in Syria and Iraq, he said.
