FRANKFURT, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- The 71st Frankfurt Book Fair closed on Sunday, with the number of visitors hitting a new record of more than 300,000, according to its organizer.
Over the past five days, about 7,450 exhibitors from 104 countries and regions attended the world's largest fair of the publishing industry, including over 100 exhibitors from Chinese mainland.
Frankfurt Audio, an area of more than 600 square meters for audio book publishers and streaming platforms, debuted at this year's book fair, putting a spotlight on one of the media industry's fastest growing segments worldwide.
At a ceremony on Sunday, a representative from Norway, Guest of Honor this year, handed over the Guest Scroll to her peer from Canada, the Guest of Honor for 2020. "Singular plurality" will be the motto for next year's Guest of Honor.
Since 1976, the book fair has been featuring a Guest of Honor each year. China was the Guest of Honor in 2009. ■
