NANJING, China, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- Antonio Blakeney missed the buzzer beater and could not save Jiangsu Dragons from being narrowly beaten by Zhejiang Golden Bulls 97-96 in the 2019-2020 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league here on Saturday.
Jiangsu rallied hard in the last minutes, turning the runaway situation into a one-point game with 7.6 seconds left. Blakeney pulled up a tough three-point jumper but wasted everything.
Blakeney notched the game-high 34 points plus four rebounds. Sylven Landesberg scored 33 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for Zhejiang, and his teammate Marcus Denmon also contributed 23 points.
Center Miroslav Radulica only posted 10 points for Jiangsu as he was trapped in early foul trouble. Both teams showcased strong defense and could not make shots in the first quarter.
Zhejiang made a ruthless start by pouring on three-pointers in the second half led by Sylven, establishing a 20-point lead to enter the last quarter.
