WARSAW, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski confirmed on Wednesday that his wife is pregnant for the second time.
The German Champions beat Olympiakos 2-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday night. Lewandowski broke the deadlock, as he tapped home Kingsley Coman's cross from close range before Ivan Perisic marked the result with one minute remaining.
The Pole's goal celebration suggested his wife might be pregnant, as "Lewy" started to suck a thumb and put the ball under the shirt. The frontman of Bayern confirmed good news just after the match in the interview for "Sport BILD."
"Yes, it's true, baby is coming. I would like to say it officially. I'm very proud, because parenting is one of the most beautiful thing in the world. My wife Ania is in the fourth month of pregnancy. We are happy that our family will be bigger," said the player.
On Saturday Lewandowski and his teammates will play against Borussia Dortmund in German classic. "It will be a tough game. I hope we'll play in the defense as effectively as in the clash against Olympiakos," emphasized Lewandowski.
Polish paper "Przeglad Sportowy" reported on Monday that Lewandowski would undergo surgery, to address a groin injury.
"I don't feel pain, so I'm not under the pressure. It's not a serious surgery. After that I will rest just for two weeks," said the attacker.
