TOKYO, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- China defeated the United States to advance to the top four of the women's team in the 2019 Table Tennis Team World Cup which continued here Friday.
In the first doubles match, the Chinese team sent Chen Meng and Sun Yingsha to play against the United Sates' Amy Wang and Lily Zhang, winning the games 12-10, 12-10 and 11-7.
In the singles match, China's Liu Shiwen won 11-3, 11-8, 11-4 against her opponent. Sun Yingsha of China won the second singles match with 8-11, 11-8, 11-5, 11-5. In the end, the Chinese team defeated the United States 3-0 in the women's team matches.
The Chinese women's team will then face Chinese Taipei in the semifinal on Saturday, while the Chinese men's team will play against Japan in the men's semifinal.
