90 Ugandans have started a three-week training program aiming to learn China experiences in wetland conservation and management technology, and architectural engineering. It's a part of China-Africa cooperation on capacity building and about 4,500 Ugandans have attended training courses in China or in Uganda over the past years.
KAMPALA, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- Ninety Ugandans have started a three-week training program aimed at sharing China experiences in wetland conservation and management technology, and architectural engineering.
Zhao Xiufen, economic and commercial counselor of the Chinese embassy, said on Tuesday that China-Africa cooperation on capacity building is an important component of the eight major initiatives proposed at the 2018 Beijing summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
Zhao said over the years, about 4, 500 Ugandans have attended training courses in China or in Uganda.
"During the next three weeks, all the participants will get the most advanced Chinese experiences on architecture and wetlands," she said at the opening ceremony attended by Ugandan government officials and participants pooled from government departments, civil society and associations.
"I really hope everybody can learn hard, acquire more knowledge and skills, and serve as even more active participants of the social economic transformation of Uganda and to act as bridges and ambassadors of the friendship connecting our two peoples," she added.

Safinah Kisu Museene, commissioner for Business, Technical and Vocational Education and Training, ministry of education said she was optimistic that the training workshop can improve Uganda's practical engineering construction industry.
"I believe what they learn here can allow experts of both countries to discuss the experience and challenges of engineering construction industry and wetland conservation in Uganda and the feasibility of technology transfer," Museene said.
Yuan Jiming, deputy director-general, Department of Natural Protected Area Management, National Forestry and Grassland Administration in China said during the training that experts would share China's experience in wetland conservation and management.
The training is organized by China's Ningbo Polytechnic and China National Bamboo Research Center. It is sponsored by China's Ministry of Commerce.
